In Loving Memory of Pearllene Edmond Reese
A Life Well Lived and Cherished
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Pearllene Edmond Reese. Pearllene was born September 26, 1949, and departed November 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a sudden decline in her health. Pearlene was the cherished child of Willie L. Edmond Sr. and Mattie Pearl Edmond, a devoted wife to the late John Reese, Jr. and a loving mother to her son Dewayne Hutton Sr.
Pearllene Edmond Reese graduated from Hammond Tech High School. After high school she worked numerous jobs, married John Reese Jr. and moved to Smith Station Alabama, where she and her late husband lived for 40+ years. After retiring in 2015 from Kodak Inc., she continued to work in the home health care field.
Pearllene confessed Christ as her personal savior and carried her faith with her always, as her faith in the Lord was un-shakable. Her faith was the foundation that guided her throughout life resulting in a life of kindness, warmth, grace, strength and resilience. A dedicated prayer warrior, she had a kind word and a pleasant thought for everyone she encountered, reflecting her deep belief in God's goodness, grace, and mercies.
Pearllene is proceeded in death by her parents Willie and Mattie Edmond, husband John Reese Jr., brothers Richard Edmand Sr., Fredrick D. Edmond, grandsons Joshua L.J. and Jacob D. Hutton.
She leaves to cherish and honor her memories: Son, Dwayne (Lacretia) Hutton. Brothers: Willie (Joan) Edmond Jr., Royal Edmond Sr., James Edmond, Sr., Joseph B. Edmond, Lonzal C. Edmond,; Sisters, Mary L. (Willie) Blissett, Ponya (Ceaser) Ramirez, Darsel (Kelvin) Alcox, Lolita Edmond, Crystal L. Edmond. Grandchildren: TeQueada S. Huntley, Ashanti Hutton Grooms, Dewayne L. Hutton Jr., Amberlene Hutton, Brandon Hutton, and 10 great-grandchildren. Special daughter Mattie Wardlaw, and special friend Gwen Price.
Pearllene enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and co-workers. For her every outing was a special occasion. She lived her life radiating un-conditional love for the Lord, love for her family, friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to have met her, touching the lives of all who knew her with warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity.
