Peggy Allen Boston, born March 19, 1944, in Houston, Texas, died on November 29, 2025, after leading a long and joyful life. Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering love for people, her kindness, and her charitable spirit.
A lifelong Houstonian, Peggy graduated with honors from Milby High School in 1962, where she captained the champion volleyball team. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston in 1967.
Peggy began her career at Foley’s, leading floor plan design and forming many lifelong friendships. She later continued her architectural work with Lloyd Jones, Brewer, and Associates, where she helped design and construct several of Houston’s most iconic office towers, including the Allen Centers and 1000 Louisiana, then the tallest all-glass office tower in the Western Hemisphere.
For more than four decades, Peggy devoted herself wholeheartedly to Houston-based philanthropic organizations, including Interfaith Ministries, Houston Audubon, Coastal Prairie Conservancy, Watercolor Art Society, and First Congregational Church. She was tireless in her service and was recognized with numerous awards over the years.
Beyond her career and philanthropy, Peggy found joy in cycling, bird watching, travel, and any opportunity to be outdoors. Her most cherished memories include trips to San Francisco and Japan in the 1960s and ’70s; Caribbean sailing adventures, bicycle tours, and travels to Australia and New Zealand in the 1980s; journeys to Scandinavia and South America in the 1990s; and many trips throughout the United States and Europe with close friends over the past 20 years. Peggy radiated warmth wherever she went, and she was always eager to make new friends along the way.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Travis Jerome Allen and Sue LoJohn Allen, her older brother, Travis (Johnny) Allen, and her grandson William Boston.
She is survived by her sister, Patti Overturf (Steve); her son, Kevin Boston (Lindsay); and her beloved grandsons, Charles, Henry, and James, who brought her immeasurable joy over the last 12 years of her life.
