Peggy Ann Friedlander, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away on January 6, 2026 at the age of 92.
Peggy was born on April 27, 1933 to John and Minette Scher. She was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY, graduating from New Rochelle High School. After graduating from Randolph-Macon Women's College, she came home to New York and began her career in retail as a buyer for Lord & Taylor. In New York, she met Robert (Bob) Friedlander and they were married in 1959.
Once Peggy and Bob started a family, Peggy then devoted her life to her family. They crisscrossed the country with Bob's career at Eastman Kodak, moving from Long Island, NY to Los Angeles, to Rochester, NY to Chicago. She made every move seamless for the family and was the master planner of wonderful excursions so the family could experience whatever part of the country they were living in. With her warm smile and personality, she made friends everywhere she went. With every move, she left a large circle of friends with whom she remained in contact with well after their move.
As she raised her family, she involved herself with volunteering with scouts and at school. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzler. She enjoyed any kind of needlework - needlepoint, embroidery, crochet and knitting, and made countless gifts for family and friends.
Bob and Peggy retired to Sarasota Florida in 1989 and enjoyed many happy years there. Peggy picked up golf in retirement and became quite good. In addition to golf, their retirement years were spent entertaining family and friends and extensive travel. Much of their travel included trips that they planned for the entire family. The family has cherished memories of trips to Hilton Head, Bermuda, Mexico and Caribbean cruises, along with visits to Sarasota and Disney World, and summer vacations in Stone Harbor, NJ.
Peggy's greatest legacy is her unconditional love and dedication to her family. Peggy is survived by her daughters Donna Triscoli (John), Meg MacDonald (Rob); 2 granddaughters: Laura Munoz (Cesar) and Amy Triscoli; 2 great granddaughters: Mila and Clara Munoz; step-grandson Kyle MacDonald (Frances); 2 step grandchildren: Mika and Kai MacDonald; her beloved sister Nancy Krisch and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Bob Friedlander.
