Pete Ainsworth, 64, of Harwood, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was a cherished husband, father, and friend, and he will be deeply missed.

Pete’s top priority was always his family. If there was a ballgame, dance recital, violin concert, or teacher conference, he was always there to provide support and encouragement. His two daughters brought him such joy and bonded with him over his love of good music, a winning poker hand, and the New England Patriots.

Pete was known for his love of travel and planned many excellent family vacations, ranging from exploring the beauty of the national parks in the west to witnessing the wonder of ancient faraway cities. Pete was not known to sit still (ever) so all the trips were filled with nonstop action during the day, usually ending with a crackling fire in the firepit, some good laughs, and a glass of bourbon.

Pete had a 40+ year career building custom homes, most recently as co-founder of Precision Contractors. He took great pride in his work and always went the extra mile to ensure perfection in the homes he built. The more interesting or challenging the project, the more passionate Pete was about bringing it to life. He was extremely generous with his time and expertise and was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.

Pete also loved to golf and spent nearly every Saturday (rain or shine) out on the course with his friends. Only when the temperature hovered near freezing did he trade his signature khaki shorts and polo for long pants and shirts – but never a coat!

Pete is survived by his wife Susan Ainsworth, his daughter Emily Frederickson (Kevin) of West River, Maryland; his daughter Sarah Gleusner (Jake) of Denver, Colorado; his brother Ray Ainsworth of Duluth, Georgia; and a number of relatives who cared deeply about him.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at the offices of Precision Contractors, 235 Log Canoe Circle, Unit P, Stevensville, MD 21666 on March 28th, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The family invites all who knew Pete to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pete’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
