With profound sadness we share that Peter G. Skowronski, died peacefully at UIC Hospital in Chicago on Friday, November 21, 2025, at age 30.
Peter is the beloved son of Barbara W. Pecak and Walter J. Skowronski. He is survived by his loving parents, dearest best friend Miranda, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, friends from GBS High School, the University of Illinois (UIC), and friends and colleagues from TTX Company.

Peter grew up in Glenview IL, attended UIC and was enrolled in the Honors Program. There he met his best friend Miranda during freshman year, and they became the "Dynamic Duo". Together, they traversed academic and life challenges and forged a deep friendship. They pursued the same major, took the same classes through undergrad and graduate school, and graduated with honors.

Both were recruited by TTX Company in Chicago as interns, hired full time and launched their successful careers in Business Analytics. At TTX, Peter applied his business acumen to improve railroad safety and operations. His teammates, engineer clients and managers recall his intelligence, generosity and kindness. He was a team player, valued for his work ethic, business insights and the many contributions he made.

Peter lived in Chicago and enjoyed all that the city had to offer. He loved exploring Chicago's many restaurants, musical events, theater (Hamilton), and the arts (Vincent van Gogh exhibits). He was interested in technology and enthusiastically applied it to create a fully automated smart home. His curiosity was insatiable and his interests varied. He enjoyed travel and exploring different cultures but was happiest when he returned to Chicago. His travels included the Dominican Republic, London, Paris, Prague, Krakow, Nowy Targ and Zakopane in Poland. In the US, he visited California, Utah, Wisconsin, Michigan, and North Carolina. He wanted to go to Hawaii but never made it there. We think he was more suited to Alaska as he loved the cold. For years, he did not own a winter coat, preferring shorts and a light jacket.

For ten years, the "Dynamic Duo" influenced each other and became close confidants. Miranda was with Peter when he received his cancer diagnosis. They navigated through thick and thin, supporting each other and grieving together. They did not know how much time Peter had after the diagnosis and were hopeful that things would improve after surgery and treatments. But life is unpredictable and Peter was gone much too soon. On Peter's last day in this world, his loving parents and Miranda were with him as he peacefully passed from this life. Miranda reflected that their connection began and ended at UIC. It was a profound, full circle moment that few people experience.
Peter was brave and shouldered life's demands and his illness with grit and strength. Despite everything, he never really took himself too seriously. He always knew how to bring humor and joy to a tough situation. His bright light shined to the very end, highlighting his kindness and his generous spirit. Unbeknownst to us, a few months before he died, he registered to be an organ donor while renewing his driver's license. Later we learned that two recipients received his corneas. Farewell dear Peter, you will live in our hearts forever!
