Phyllis M. Cardinale

Phyllis passed away on February 10, 2026, just eight days shy of her 80th birthday.

Born in Trapani, Sicily, on February 18, 1946, Phyllis immigrated with her family to Monterey, California in 1961, where she later graduated from Monterey High School. After graduation, she worked in banking and, in the evenings, helped her parents sew and tailor suits.

Phyllis met the love of her life, Frank Cardinale, in San Francisco. They were married on September 2, 1967. Phyllis devoted her life to raising her family and was known for her love of cooking and baking. Later in life, she cherished time outside the city in Sonoma, where she enjoyed tending to her garden.

Phyllis is survived by her three children, Antoinette, Vince, and Rose; her sons-in-law, John and Sal; and her four grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, Grace, and Vince. She is also survived by her brother, Buster; her sisters-in-law, Antoinette and Gilda; her brother-in-law, Joe; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends in San Francisco, Monterey, and Marettimo.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Cardinale, and her parents, Rosa and Filippo Crivello.

Phyllis will be remembered as a loving wife and an amazing mother, nonna, and friend. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church, Geary Blvd. and 23rd Avenue, San Francisco, CA followed by interment at The Italian Cemetery, Colma.
