Phyllis Mae Hendrickson

Phyllis Mae Hendrickson, 92, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026. Phyllis Hendrickson was born on May 28, 1933, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis in 1951. While there, she met the love of her life, Louis J. Hendrickson. The two were married three years later at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.

Phyllis and Louis began their family in Minnesota, where their children Mark, Wendy, and Gregg were born. In 1964, the family moved to Las Vegas so that Louis, now Dr. Louis J. Hendrickson, DDS, could continue his career in dentistry. Las Vegas would become their home for the remainder of their lives.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Phyllis lived a full and meaningful life centered on family, friendship, and service. She was active in numerous service organizations throughout her life, including the Southern Nevada Dental Auxiliary, Salvation Army, Mesquite Club (where she served as a president) as well as Assistance League of Las Vegas (now Assisting Lives in Las Vegas). Phyllis was instrumental in helping establish the Secret Witness Program to assist the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in solving crimes lacking eyewitnesses. That program continues today as Crime Stoppers of Nevada.

Phyllis enjoyed traveling, skiing, and tennis with her family and playing bridge with friends. She was an amazing cook who loved to entertain, bake, and knit. Phyllis and Louis were longtime members of Canyon Gate Country Club, where she lived for over 30 years. A woman of deep faith, Phyllis was a member of several Lutheran churches over the years, including First Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, The Lakes Lutheran Church, Faith Community Lutheran Church, and Community Lutheran Church.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Phyllis was truly a friend to everyone. To her family, she was our everything.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Hannah and Carl Moen; her brother, Gerald; and her beloved husband of 49 years, Louis J. Hendrickson.

She is survived by her sister Diane (John) Sweeney, sons Mark (Margaret) and Gregg (Judy), daughter Wendy (Neil) Daseler along with grandchildren Kai (Leah) Hendrickson, Kyle (Karli) Daseler, Bradley (Ramona Acosta) Daseler, Matthew (Kristin Montgomery) Daseler, Lindsay (Billy) Small, Bryan Hendrickson, Christopher Hendrickson, Andrew Hendrickson, as well as ten great-grandchildren and nieces Kathy (Pat) Hunt and Amy (Bobby) Lay, and nephew Peter (Megan) Moen.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church at The Lakes, 8200 W. Sahara. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Phyllis’s name to either Assisting Lives in Las Vegas or the Nevada SPCA.
