Phyllis J. (Dargin) Toner, age 74, of Marshfield, formerly of Quincy and Dorchester, died peacefully, Friday, November 21, 2025 at Life Care Center of the South Shore in Scituate, surrounded by her loving family.

Phyllis was born in Boston, to the late John F. and Sarah (Blackwood) Dargin. Raised and educated in Dorchester, she was a graduate of the former Cardinal Cushing High School, Class of 1968. She lived in Marshfield for twenty years, previously in Quincy and Dorchester.

A devoted mother and homemaker, she and her late husband, John, were caring foster parents for several years. She also worked as a personal trainer at the South Shore YMCA in Quincy for ten years, where she made many friendships.

As a young woman, she sang in the choir at Saint Ann's Church in Quincy. Phyllis enjoyed exercising, walks outdoors, singing, painting, arts, and crafts.

Phyllis was dedicated to her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late John E. Toner.

Devoted mother of John J. "Jay" Toner, Lieutenant, Q.F.D. and his wife Iris of Raynham, Kerri J. Angellis and her husband Michael, Jr. of Hull, Robin M. Mahrouk and her husband Nabeel of Rockland, and predeceased by David Toner and baby Kimberly Toner.

Loving grandmother of Jack and Mia Toner, Sean, Matthew, and Michael Angellis, Cole, Zoe, and Ava Mahrouk.

One of nine siblings, she was the dear sister of John "Ian" Dargin and his wife Betty of Duxbury, Suzanne Garrett and her husband Dan of Marshfield, Marylou Rizzo of Marshfield and her late husband Bob, Ellen Knapp and her husband Thomas of Fla., Anne Schroeder and her husband Jim of Duxbury, twins, Terry Bartlett and her husband John of Canton, Tommy Dargin and his wife Barbara of South Boston, and the late Paul Dargin.

Phyllis is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Tuesday, November 25, from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish in Saint Mary's Church, 95 Crescent Street, West Quincy, on Wednesday, November 26, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
