In Loving Memory of Phyllis J. Voight (Holloman)
Phyllis J. Voight (Holloman), age 70, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, humor, and creativity that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Emmons (Thatcher); her cherished grandsons, Cole Emmons, and Jake Emmons; her mother, Donna Lanz; her sisters Wendy Leathers, Sherry Lanz, and Barbara Gargano; her brother Scott Lanz; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply.
A self-made professional, Phyllis built a successful career in digital documentation, mastering the evolving world of technical and digital content creation. She drew early inspiration from her best friend of 40 years, Kae Gillium, whose encouragement helped shape the path Phyllis would follow with determination and pride. Over the years, she brought her skill and dedication to her roles at Innovax and Siemens, retiring from Bank of America. Her adaptability, curiosity, and work ethic defined her professional life and set a strong example for her daughter and those around her.
Outside of work, Phyllis was a woman of many passions. She was a talented quilter whose hands crafted warmth and beauty, creating pieces that will continue to comfort those she loved. She was an avid book lover, always ready to dive into a new story or share a favorite with someone close to her. Those who knew her will forever remember her infectious laugh and her wonderfully snarky sense of humor, which could light up any room and bring levity to even the toughest days.
Phyllis’s life was defined by the relationships she nurtured and the joy she brought to others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in her laughter, her kindness, and her love.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
In lieu of flowers, Phyllis’s wish was for support to be directed to the ASPCA, a cause close to her heart.
