1990 - 2025
Rachel Brianne Poore, 35, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Berthoud, Colorado. Born on May 27, 1990, in Boulder, Colorado, Rachel brought light and warmth into the world from the very beginning.
A proud graduate of Berthoud High School’s Class of 2008 and four year member of the marching band, Rachel went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University in 2012. Her academic path reflected her deep interest in understanding others and her natural inclination toward empathy and connection.
Rachel was known for her quick wit, her warmth, and the effortless way she made people feel at ease. She had a rare kind of kindness that was genuine and unforced, paired with a sense of humor that could light up any room. Those who met Rachel often felt an immediate connection to her. She carried a calm, positive energy that drew people in and made them feel welcome.
Her love for animals was profound and unwavering. Her beloved dog Toby was not just a pet but a cherished companion who brought her immense joy. Alongside Toby was Willow, her treasured cat who shared Rachel’s home and heart. Her compassion extended far beyond her own circle - Rachel was a fierce and unwavering ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. She advocated with sincerity and courage, always standing up for the rights of others.
Rachel’s personal style was as vibrant and layered as she was. Embracing an emo and gothic aesthetic with black as one of her favorite colors, she also delighted in rainbows, glitter, sparkles - anything that shimmered or caught the light. This beautiful contrast reflected the essence of who she was: someone who held both depth and brightness with grace.
A gifted artist at heart, Rachel expressed herself through creativity that touched those around her. Though she never pursued art professionally, she poured love into handmade posters and signage for friends’ celebrations - each piece marked by her elegant handwriting and thoughtful design. She also was an astounding makeup artist, always finding new and exciting looks to try. Her artistic spirit added beauty to everyday moments.
Rachel also had a passion for travel and adventure. She frequently explored new places with her close-knit group of friends, finding joy in discovering new cultures and experiences. Among her favorite destinations were New York City and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - places that mirrored her love for beaches, big cities, and shared laughter with those closest to her.
She is lovingly remembered and forever missed by her mother Peggy McNeal; step-father Bill McNeal; father Keith Poore; step-mother Cindy Moore; sister Alicia Poore; brother Colton Poore; step-brother Kyle McNeal and all her wonderful, close friends, including her best friend Sean Ochs.
