Rachel Leanne Vieira, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away at the young age of only 48 years old. Her life was defined by fierce love, quiet strength, and an unwavering passion for the people and animals she cared for.
Rachel is survived by her devoted husband, Michael, her cherished daughter, Drew, her loving sister, Carmel, her parents Sue and Guy, and her nieces and nephews, Isaac, Wyatt, Addie, and Ailish, all of whom she held close to her heart.
A lifelong advocate for animals, Rachel spent years volunteering with multiple rescue organizations, opening her home—and her heart—to countless dogs and litters of puppies in need. Rachel's compassion saved lives, brought joy to families, and left an indelible mark on the rescue community and in her home.
Rachel faced her battle with cancer with the same determination and courage she brought to every part of her life. She made jokes, she stood her ground, spoke her mind, and she gave it her all. Though the illness ultimately took her, it never dimmed her spirit and she remained strong.
Rachel will be remembered for her fierce loyalty, her boundless love, her strength, and the passion she poured into everything she did. She had a sense of humor and wit like no other that was truly infectious. Rachel's legacy lives on in her family she adored, the animals she rescued, and the many lives she touched.
Her celebration of life will be held on December 13, 2025 at Semiahmoo Lodge in Blaine from 2:00-6:00pm for any who knew Rachel or her family that would like to attend.
