In Loving Memory of Rachelle Denee LeMoine
April 22, 1978 - February 27, 2026
With profound love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our dearest daughter, Rachelle Denee LeMoine, who left this world on February 27,2026 after a long battle with cancer. We will always remember the strength and courage she showed during the most difficult days.
Rachelle was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. Born on April 22, 1978, in Berkeley, Ca she brought so much joy and love into our family. She was such a beautiful child, with a kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her.
After graduating from Liberty High School in Brentwood, she attended LMC. She always had such a passion for children, which was demonstrated with her early jobs as a babysitter/nanny. She went on to work for the Dainty Center, where she touched so many lives of the young children. She would come full circle later in life, and work there while her children attended the school. Her most happiest times in life, were the times she worked with children; but she touched on a few other careers while raising her three boys, who were her whole world.
She had a wonderful way of making others feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether through her words, her quiet acts of kindness, or her warm smile, Rachelle offered comfort and connection in a world that often needs both. She possessed a strength that carried her through life's challenges and a grace that inspired those fortunate enough to walk beside her.
Above all, Rachelle was a beloved mother to her three sons, Kael, Karson and Kayde; whose bond with her children was full of love. They were her rocks and her encouragement every day. She is survived by her parents Jan and Jerry Calahan of Oakley, and her Dad, Miron Self of Lake Havasu, Az. Her brothers; Jeremy Peterson Self (Raha) and Joshua Calahan (Kay), her niece Ayla, and nephew Remy. She is also survived by her beloved aunts and uncle, Jill Peterson; Jaye and Roger Buhlis; all her cousins that she loved so much; and her extended family . We are so grateful to our dearest family for all the love and support they gave us during these difficult days. She will also be remembered by her wonderful friends for her love, her laughter, the crazy fun times, and the countless cherished memories she leaves behind for them. She loved you all so much. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are forever grateful for the gift of her life and the times we shared.
She will be deeply missed and eternally loved, especially by her three "Sonshines", please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. They all loved her so much.
A service will be held to honor Rachelle's life on Saturday, April 11, 2026. It will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Antioch, Ca at 2:00 pm. Immediately following the funeral, there will be a reception in Discovery Bay. The address will be available at the funeral. Her Burial was a private ceremony with her family only.
In her memory, those who wish may offer acts of kindness to others, reflecting the love she so freely gave.
Forever in our hearts.
