Ralph Richard Gainer, Jr., 79, of Plantation, Florida, passed away on December 13, 2025. Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia and raised on the banks of the Ohio River in Belpre, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Ralph and Thyra Gainer.
Ralph devoted sixty years of service to the commercial construction industry. He entered the field with Industrial First, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio, and went on to build a notable career as both a business owner and consultant. His work reflected his dedication, expertise, and entrepreneurial spirit, leaving a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him.
He is survived by his former wife, Kathryn Gainer, and their three children: Dona McClelland and her late husband, Artie; Danielle Barber and her husband, Scott; and Jason Gainer and his wife, Jenn. Ralph is lovingly remembered by his long-time partner, Betsy Briggs, and their son, Chris.
In addition, Ralph is survived by his brothers, Daniel Gainer and Adam Gainer; his sister, Lou Ann Malkut Davis; and twelve grandchildren: Lily, Colin, Abbie, Alex, Leah, Camden, Catie, Nathan, Noah, Ethan. Liam, and Calvin.
Ralph's legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the many lives he touched, and his contributions to the skylines of Cleveland and Miami.
