It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Randal Louis Trujillo, affectionately known as Randy. He passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 74. Randy was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming. When he was 14 years old, he moved in with his father Luis, and his beloved Betty Trujillo. He graduated from Fort Collins High School, and under the coaching and mentorship of Arnold Torgeson, he took the State Wrestling Championship, on February 22, 1970. The "Randy Trujillo Award" is given each year to an outstanding wrestler in recognition of his remarkable legacy. He remained actively involve in the wrestling matches, serving as a dedicated worker at wrestling tournaments at Fort Collins High School. Randy was drafted in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired as a proud Veteran. He attended the University of Colorado Boulder and later worked for Xcel Energy, retiring after 32 years. After retirement, he earned an Associate degree in Theology and completed the 3rd year Missions Program from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas. At the Bible college he played guitar on the praise and worship team alongside Kevin Jonas Sr, the father of the Jonas Brothers.
His adventurous spirit led him to Mexico City, where he was one of twenty-five pastors serving a congregation of more than 10,000 at Amistad Cristiana. During his time there, he was mentored by Dr. Idillio Pardillo, learning the language and embracing the culture. At Amistad Cristiana Randy also served on the worship team and ministered in various prisons, as well as to children living on the streets. He faithfully led youth groups on mission trips to Romania, Costa Rica, and throughout surrounding areas of Mexico.
Randy also dedicated his time to coaching his daughter Dominique's softball team. Under his leadership, the team achieved victory at the Mexico Junior Olympics, earning the gold medal.
After a four-year period, he was called back to Christ for the Nations, Institute. There he served on the Advisory Board and continued his lifelong commitment to ministry and mentorship. During Covid epidemic, Randy and his family moved back to Fort Collins to be near his father, mother-in-law, extended family, and friends. He opened a pizza shop, "Espy's Pizza Palace" in Wellington Co. lovingly naming it after his granddaughter, Esperanza.
Randy loved jam sessions with his brother Gary and his brother-in-law Brian. He cherished time spent with his close-knit group of high school friends, who gathered monthly for breakfast. He treasured time with the Gavaldon family—playing golf and sharing weekend menudo together. He loved seeing familiar faces from the past, including Mr. Carbajal, Frank and Rick Ramirez, Danny Valdez, and Bill Wright. All the Cordova's, Maxwells, Ramirez families, and the neighborhood families he grew up with in the hood. Teasing his sisters and sisters-in-law was one of his favorite pastimes.
More than anything, Randy loved being with his grandchildren and watching his granddaughter Esperanza grow in her passion for swimming. Faithfully attending all of her competitions and offering encouragement and knowledge to help her achieve her dreams.
Randy is survived by his wife, Diana with whom he shared 42 years of marriage; his children Dominique and husband Joseph, Marcelo, Tanisha, Vanessa, Daniel and wife Alison; seven grandchildren- Valerie, Isaac, Isaiah, Diana, Esperanza, Emiliano, and Cariana; and seven great-grandchildren- Anayah, Nevaeh, Chrystian, Israel, Ivory, Calvin, and baby Isaiah. He is survived by his siblings: Gary and Debbie Wheeler, Bob Blanco (Deanna Kerscher) and Carol Blanco, Janice Blanco, Sam and Karen Blanco, Connie Blanco, JoAnn and Brian Brooks, Emily Clark (Blanco), and Mary Lee and Steve Kaltenberger.
Randy was preceded in death by Luis and Betty Trujillo; his mother, Janie Thomas; his sister, Louise Archebeque; his brothers, Dave Blanco, Steve Trujillo, and Jimmy Trujillo; his cousins, Michael and Manuel Cordova; and his in-laws, Roy and Dolores Duran, Ruby Duran (Chavez), Daniel Duran, Antoinette Duran, and Roy Jr. Duran.

May Randy's memory bring comfort to his family and friends and inspire others to live lives of service and love. He will be remembered for his laughter, humor, and above all, his deep love for the Lord, his family, and community.
Thank you for being such an important part of his life!

"Love Conquers all things, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:7
