Randall A McCafferty

Randy was born on July 25, 1958 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Ralph & Suzanne McCafferty. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Linda McCafferty, who was his partner & best friend & caring sister Bonnie McCafferty. Randy passed away on February 13, 2026 in Fort Pierce, Florida. He was also preceded in death by a sister Debbie.

Randy earned his Ocean Engineering degree from Florida Atlantic University & Professional Engineers certification from the State of Florida. He built a successful career in the field, gaining the respect of colleagues & clients for his knowledge, reliability, & commitment to excellence. Randy worked as an engineer at South Florida Water Management District for 15 years. He also proudly co-owned & operated Engineering & Water Resources Inc., reflecting both his entrepreneurial spirit & his passion for his profession.

Outside of his work, Randy found great joy in the simple pleasures of life— spending time with friends, whether he was playing golf with the guys, an impromptu happy hour/get together with neighbors, monthly gatherings or a planned get-away with our out-of-town close friends. Randy often said he just wanted good times & to have fun…he carried that spirit with him throughout his life.

Randy had a very kind heart. He was a very loving husband & ‘dad’ to their four-legged kids. He enjoyed bike riding, running, scuba diving, fishing, golfing, cooking, going for long walks & floating in the pool. Being an early riser, the first few cups of coffee were often spent with Linda on the patio watching the sun come up.

His warmth & humor made him easy to love & impossible to forget. Those who knew Randy will remember his steady presence & the easygoing outlook he brought to life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
