In Loving Memory of Randy Glenn Hood ("Da")
November 8, 1952 - December 16, 2025
Randy Glenn Hood, a follower of Jesus, devoted husband, father, grandfather "Da", and a distinguished public servant, passed away peacefully at his home in Benton, Louisiana, on December 16, 2025, surrounded by his wife of 55 years, Nona and son Mike. While the family is deeply saddened by this great loss, they rejoice knowing that Randy is reunited with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his beloved daughter Candy.
Born on November 8, 1952, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Randy spent his life dedicated to the service of others and the love of his family. He was a dedicated public servant to the City of Shreveport for 30 years with the Shreveport Fire Department. During his tenure he earned multiple degrees and was an Executive Fire Officer graduate from the National Fire Academy. His leadership and expertise were recognized throughout his career, which culminated in his retirement as the Chief of Training. His professional legacy lives on through the countless firefighters he mentored and his son, retired Chief of Fire Prevention, Mike Hood.
Randy was the beloved husband of Nona Hood (née Ford), with whom he shared a life full of devotion and cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pansy Hood; his daughter, Jennifer Candy Hood; his brothers, John Edward Hood, James Raymond Hood, and Charles Hood; and his parents-in-law, Oscar and Lona Ford.

He was the proud great-grandfather of Kaz Hood, Sebastian Holloway and Wilder Holloway.
