RAY CASANTA Jr, 86, passed away suddenly on Friday afternoon, December 19, 2025 near his home in Summerton, SC.
Mr. Casanta was born on March 7, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Ray Sr and Margaret Casanta. He was a graduate of Rayen High School, and a member of the US Marine Reserves. He worked in the construction and steelmaking industries for much of his life, before retiring and moving from Ohio to South Carolina in 2007 to pursue his lifelong passions of golfing and motorcycling. He particularly enjoyed traveling to visit his family in Florida and Ohio, in addition to attending motorcycle rallies throughout the Eastern US.
Ray leaves to cherish his memory his son Ray III, wife Rachel (Doubet) Casanta and granddaughters Gianna and Elaina of Ohio, son Mark, wife Jennifer (Waterworth) Casanta, and granddaughter Claire of Florida, nephew David and wife Jennifer Casanta, and nieces Stacey and Tara Casanta all of Ohio.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents Ray Sr and Margaret (Delbene) Casanta, daughter Lori Casanta, and brother Louis and wife Nancy Casanta.
In accordance with his wishes, Ray was cremated and will be interred in a private ceremony. Family and friends are invited to sign the guestbook or send private condolences.
