Ray Dean Gardner, lovingly known as Deanie, 63, of Dallas, NC, passed away on December 27, 2025. He was born on February 27, 1962 to the late Charles Robert "Bub" and Mary Elizabeth "Boo" Gardner.
In his younger years and when health allowed, he loved being outside, and one of his favorite places to go was the NC mountains to camp and hike. In his later years, he enjoyed the company of his beloved canine companion Junior, and was employed by Air Supply until very recent years. Although his health did not allow him to travel as in his younger years, he kept his love of the outdoors. In the realm of music and sports, Deanie was an ardent fan of the Beatles and the Dallas Cowboys.
In addition to his parents, Deanie is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, John Dargan and Vic Costner O'Neal and Rufus Sylvester and Nancy Pasour Gardner, respectively, as well as his sister Diana Gardner.
He is survived by his brothers Charles Robert "Chuck" Gardner, Jr and wife Carolyn of Ocean Isle Beach, NC.; John Rufus "Johnny" Gardner of Dallas, NC; Jeffrey Lynn "Lyndy" Gardner and wife Lois of Bessemer City, NC, and his sister Peggy Elizabeth "Bunnie" Yancey and husband Keith of Gastonia, NC, as well as other family members and long time friends.
In the near future, a gathering will be announced so that family and friends may share memories and celebrate knowing Ray Dean Gardner, "Deanie".
