Raymond Lee Hernandez, 69, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Irvine, California. Born on June 6, 1956, in Santa Ana, California, Raymond lived a life grounded in faith, family, and dedication to his work and community.
A proud graduate of Bolsa Grande High School in the class of 1974, Raymond embarked on a long and steady career in the grocery industry. He spent several decades working in supermarket meat departments, including many years as a manager with Stater Bros. and Albertsons. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, he took great pride in his role and valued the relationships he built with coworkers and customers alike.
Raymond's Christian faith was a guiding force throughout his life. A devoted churchgoer, he found deep peace and joy in reading the Bible, attending Bible studies, and participating actively in church life. His commitment to sharing his beliefs was evident to all who knew him; he welcomed every opportunity to speak about the comfort and strength he found through his faith.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Beatrice Hernandez Dunn (Roy); brothers Arthur Hernandez (Laura), Roger Hernandez, and Greg Hernandez; sisters Gloria Hernandez and Denise Hernandez DiBuono (Ben); as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were part of his extended circle of love and support. He also had many close friends who shared in his Christian faith.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, Ray T. Hernandez.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 1, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Living Waters Christian Fellowship, 9801 Talbert Avenue. Burial will follow from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Avenue. A reception will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Mariners Pointe (clubhouse next to pool), 19350 Ward Street. Friends and family are invited to share memories of Raymond during the reception.
His memory will live on through those who shared in his journey of faith and family. May his legacy bring comfort to all who knew him.
