Raymond H. Ludwig, 83, of Cayuga, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Born in Ilion, NY on September 13, 1942, Ray was the son of the late Harry and Thelma Watson Ludwig.

Ray retired from teaching at Cayuga Onondaga Boces and Cayuga Community College. He was also an Airman Second Class for the United States Air Force. He was an avid car enthusiast and was known to be cruising around town in his Austin Healey. If you ever met Ray, you would have discovered a loyal, adventurous, clean cut, easy going, witty, flexible, friendly, high energy, sensitive, jokester, simple and spiritual man.

Ray is survived by his sisters, Darleen (Stephen) Paul and Eileen Totten; three children by heart, Edward (Jennifer) Allwood, Jacky Ludwig and Chris Ludwig, his nieces and nephews Stephen (Lorri) Paul, Rebecca Aldrich, Aaron Paul, Rachel (Carl) Rappleyea, Eric Gravelding, Kimberly (Tom) Dybalski, Paula (Joe) Derby, Paul (Amy) Totten, Mary (Paul) Townsend, Dorr Totten, and very close friends Stephanie Mattes, Mike (Sue) Corgnell, Richard Deys, John (Pat) Kimber, John (Sue) Hubbard and Mary Horan.

Along with his parents, Ray was predeceased by his first wife, Dawn Ludwig, his second wife, Patricia Ludwig, and his brother, John Ludwig.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 22 from 10am - noon in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street, Auburn. A funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home with interment to follow in Fort Hill Cemetery.
