Raymond Erick Maks

Raymond Erick Maks, known to all as Rick, passed away April 12, 2026 at the age of 77. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 20, 1948, Rick grew up in the Detroit area attending high school at North Farmington High. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware, where he was a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. He continued his education earning a DDS degree from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. Rick went on to open his own dental practice, building lasting relationships with his patients and community over the course of his career before moving into a role as a Director at Midwestern Dental until his retirement in 2020.

Rick proudly served his country as a member of the Michigan Air National Guard at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Rick was happiest when he was with good people doing something he loved. He was a devoted sports fan and brought that same enthusiasm and competitive spirit to everything he pursued. Those who knew Rick best knew he was always game for a good time — and even better company.

Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Maks; his children Heidi (William)
Shannon, Raymond (Holly) Maks, Lindsey (Michael) Eugenio and Christopher (Jill)
Maks; his grandchildren Lauren, William, Katherine, and Mark Shannon, Madeline and Chloe Maks, Mia, Megan, and Michael Eugenio, and Boudewyn, Charlotte, and Braden Maks; his sister Pamela (David) Meyer; and his brother Robert (Susan) Maks. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Walter Maks, and his mother, Loretta Zielan Maks.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, the family asks that you hold Rick in your memories the way he lived — with a smile and a good story.
