Rebecca Sue Parrish, 77, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025 in Lexington, North Carolina.
Born on August 29, 1948 in Lexington, Sue was the daughter of Lizzie and Joe Hearn, Sr. both of whom preceded her in death. She was the sister of Joe Hearn, Jr. of Lexington and Bill Hearn of Winston-Salem.
Sue was a devoted wife to Watts Parrish for 56 years and a beautiful, loving mother to her daughter Kathy Parrish Nelson (Bryce) of Richmond, Virginia and son Bryan Parrish (Ashley) of Burlington, North Carolina. She is also survived by sister-in-law Bonnie Parrish Weldon and her husband Cled Weldon of Boca Raton, Florida.
She found immense joy in being 'SuSu' to her grandchildren Rebecca Nelson, Reed Nelson and Owen Parrish. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Time with her family was what she valued most.
A woman of deep faith, Sue was an active member of Tyro Methodist Church. Her presence there was marked by kindness and dedication, reflecting the caring spirit that defined her life. During her over 30 years of membership, she used her talents to beautify the church and glorify God.
Sue had a creative soul and expressed it through sewing, which she pursued with both skill and love. Whether making pillows and window treatments for her clients or crafting something special for her grandchildren, she poured thoughtfulness into every detail. Like her mother, Sue also had a love for gardening and enjoyed watching her garden bloom and grow.
Those who knew Sue will remember her as caring, thoughtful, creative, and loving; a woman whose quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Tyro Methodist Church. The family will receive friends and loved ones following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tyro Methodist Family Life Center Building Fund.
