Reginald (Reggie) Harper Jr passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2026, at the age of 34 in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born on January 15, 1991 in Kankakee, Illinois.

Reggie was a person full of energy, humor, and life. He had a natural gift for making people laugh and was rarely far from others, as he genuinely loved being around people. He had a kind and giving heart. Those who knew him best remember him for his humor, big heart and his ability to bring light into a room. He was always the biggest personality in any room where he was present.

Like many, Reggie faced challenges in his life. His life was marked by both hardship and resilience, and he remained deeply human—displaying kindness, forming connections, and possessing the genuine desire for people to be happy.

He is survived by his parents: Mona Harper and Reginald Harper & Christina Harper. He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Zaniyah Librielle Harper and her mother Teisha Rene McDonald. Zaniyah was Reggie's greatest pride and joy and the brightest light in his life. He is further survived by his brothers Gregory Harper and Christopher Harper, his sister, Reannia Harper and his two nephews, Isaiah and Jeremiah Harper. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles and cousins as he was part of a large and close-knit family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tommie and Mercedes Coleman, and his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Laverne Harper.

Reggie will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his laughter, and the love he carried for those he cherished.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
