Renee M. Brown (Ray) passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, at the age of 70. She was born in Gary, Indiana on May 20,1955, to Murray and Imogene Brown, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by sister Missy Brown-Jones. She is survived by her loving sisters Jeannine Harmon and Dr. Angelique Brown-Robinson (Mark Sr.); and her nephews Benjamin, Jeremiah, Justin, Mark Jr.; beloved niece Lauren, 2 great nieces Sophia, Valerie, a great nephew Julian, and a host of cousins.
She graduated from West Side High School in 1973 and subsequently retired early from BP Amoco. Later in life, Renee moved to Tucumcari, New Mexico, where she spent her remaining years and met kind friends who became very dear to her.
A true spirit, Renee was an avid sports fan and a passionate collector of sports memorabilia. She also loved fishing, playing cards and found peace at the beach. She lived her life on her own terms and will be remembered for her independent spirit, warmth, and love for things that brought her happiness.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2025, with family hour from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. and funeral service to follow. All services at the Guy & Allen Chapel 2959 West 11th Avenue Gary, Indiana 46404. Minister Tracey Lewis officiating.
