With deepest regrets, we announce Ricardo “Richard” Arce passed away at the age of 66 on January 17, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard Arce was born in 1959 in Robstown, TX. He was raised in Edinburg, TX by parents Tito and Maria de Jesus Lopez Arce. He was their youngest child and had 8 siblings, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
In school, he participated in several sports, enjoying football and track
the most.
He attended Pan American University in Edinburg, where he met Rosa Linda Vasquez.
They married in February 1980 and had their first child, Jennifer, at the end of that year. In 1981, his small family moved to Houston, TX, where he began working for NOV (National Oilwell Varco). Before his second child, Adam, was born in 1985, he coached a baseball team. When Adam joined the Cub Scouts, Richard volunteered many wonderful hours at events, fundraising barbecues, and campouts, and he became an Assistant Scout Master.
Twenty nine years ago, he joined the Knights of Columbus and supported the community of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in Spring, TX.
After his children graduated from Spring High School, Richard and his wife moved to Magnolia, TX. He transitioned to the Magnolia Council, where he continued to dedicate his time to charity, faith, and unity in the support of the St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church community. He advanced to the level of Fourth Degree Knight.
He enjoyed grilling, eating delicious food, and took pride in any task he set to complete.
He loved laughing and joking with his friends and family. His best days were spent with his cherished grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his brothers: Cristelo and Horacio Arce; his sisters: Olivia Lopez, Petra Lopez, Fermana Lopez, Oralia Tapia and Librada Montes; and his
daughter-in-law, Monica Santillano Arce.
Richard leaves behind his dedicated wife Rosa, his children Adam and Jennifer, son-in-law Michael, his beautiful grandchildren Jonah and Joaquin, and his brother Homer, a Fourth Degree Knight.
With his dedication, caring and giving soul, he touched the lives of many. As we say goodbye to Richard, we celebrate his life and cherish the stories we share. He was a remarkable man who will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of
knowing him.
He is now at peace in the arms of his Savior.
