Ricci (Ric) Victor Freymond was born on July 15th,1944 and passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2026. Ric was originally from Glendale California and graduated from Van Nuys High School. He served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965 and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal. He remained in the Reserves until 1967.
Ric was a Renaissance man, and he excelled at everything he did. He was a musician who played the drums and loved both rock and country music. Another one of Ric's greatest passions was art. As an adult he went to Pierce College in Woodland Hills where he learned to paint, sketch and silk screen. Ric also loved the outdoors. He was the Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 168 in Reseda, where he shared his love for nature with his son, Charles. He was a great role model and respected by every Scout who met him. Ric then continued to spend time outdoors at Big Bear with his daughter Cathy once she was old enough.
When Ric put his mind to something there was no stopping him. He was not a person to sit still for long. In 1998 Ric took up a new hobby when he learned about rock crawling in his jeep - and this was his happy place. The smile on his face when he shared a story about one of his rock climbing trips was priceless. He also spent multiple years clogging and then country dancing with his most favorite partner, Lisa. Ric was a very generous and amazing man, and he will be missed.
Ric is survived by his daughter Catherine (Eddie) Miller, his son Charles (Lisamarie) Moore, his brother David (Peggy) Freymond, his partner Lisa Melchior. Ric was also loved by his grandchildren; Cory (Karina) Freymond, Tyler Miller, Cammie Moore, Bryan (Candice) Campiotti, Amanda (John) Woods and 8 great grandchildren. The service will be held on February 12th at 12:30 pm at the Los Angeles National Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life in Simi Valley.
