Richard "Dick" Benson, 90, passed away on November 1, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Born on April 16, 1935, in Lanesboro, Minnesota, Dick lived a vibrant and accomplished life marked by professional success, boundless energy, and a deep love for both people and the world around him.

Dick earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, laying the foundation for a distinguished career that spanned several decades and industries. He served as Vice President of Quality at Storage Technology in Boulder, Colorado, before taking on leadership roles as CEO of Fujitsu in Portland, Oregon, and later at Engineered Data Products (EDP) in Broomfield, Colorado. His work was characterized by innovation and excellence, earning him respect throughout the business community.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dick was known for his outgoing personality and zest for life. He had an infectious positivity that drew people to him wherever he went. Whether he was snow skiing down mountain slopes, rollerblading through parks, or playing a lively game of pickleball, Dick embraced every moment with enthusiasm. He also loved to dance—an expression of joy that matched his energetic spirit.

Dick's faith was central to his life. He loved Jesus deeply and carried that love into his interactions with others through kindness and generosity.

He is lovingly remembered by his sisters Jean Krosness and Estelle Hummel. He was preceded in death by his daughter Gwenn Benson. Surviving family members include, Lorraine Benson his wife, his sons David Benson and wife Nancy, John Benson and wife Becky, Katherine Benson his daughter. Grandchildren, Christine Scheffler, Laura Benson, Steven Benson and great grand child Jack Scheffler.

May Richard "Dick" Benson's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire all who were touched by his remarkable life. A Memorial Service will be held on December 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church 10815 N 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ. Following the Service is a Celebration of Life at the Casa Bella Club House on 10101 N Arabian Trail. Scottsdale.
