In Loving Memory
Richard Curran
November 17, 1952 - November 16, 2025

Sadly, Rich Curran passed away at home on Sunday, November 16th in Dennis Massachusetts, after a multi-year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (diagnosed December 2019). He was one day short of his 73rd birthday. Rich and his wife, Chris Curran have been together since March 5, 2010, and were married on March 22, 2013.

Rich lived in Somerville, Mass - until he married his first wife, Joan Cook, June 19, 1974. She passed away June 5, 2005. Rich leaves behind two sons, three grandchildren, and two sisters.

Rich graduated from St. Mary of the Annunciation High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was class president, captain of the football team and on the baseball team his senior year. After graduation 1970, he attended Mass Bay Community College and graduated from Suffolk University in 1974. Rich later earned his MBA from Bentley University in Accounting. He worked for 30 years at Analog Devices in Norwood, Massachusetts. Many of those years, Rich served as their Director of Taxes.

Rich trained to run the Boston Marathon for the first time in 2011, at the age of 58 years! Chris cheered wildly as he successfully crossed the finish line. Rich loved music – Country, Jazz, Motown and also loved to dance. Rich and Chris frequently enjoyed dancing to the music at Cedar Hammock on Friday nights.

Over the years, Rich became a bit of a gardener. Rich and Chris worked tirelessly in the yard in Dennis and also their villa in Naples. Rich had the patience of a saint, especially dead heading plants and bushes throughout the seasons.

Rich and Chris enjoyed their time in Naples and Cedar Hammock – attending concerts at The First Presbyterian Church (Bonita Springs), golfing, riding bikes, and relaxing together.

After Rich’s death, Chris came across a report asking Rich his goal: “Play golf with my wife.”

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful;
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering,
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
Part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
