Richard "Dick" Lochner, age 84, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born in Morton Grove, Illinois, and a longtime resident of Arvada, Colorado, Dick approached life with a spirit of curiosity and adventure that never faded.

He spent his youth in Morton Grove, where his family owned a greenhouse. Dick worked there through high school, learning the value of hard work. In 1959, he proudly earned the rank of Eagle Scout—an achievement that reflected the service, honor, and leadership that guided him throughout his life. After graduating from Notre Dame High School, he studied Aeronautical Engineering at Lewis University. He later served his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966 during the Vietnam era.

In 1970, Dick married Carol and moved to Colorado to begin their life together. He spent his early career crafting redwood patio furniture before discovering his true professional calling in sales. For the next 47 years, he worked as a manufacturer's representative in the lighting industry, where he formed lasting friendships and brightened every interaction with his trademark humor.

Faith was a steady foundation for Dick. For more than 25 years, he welcomed parishioners as an usher at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. He later continued his commitment to service and community through the Knights of Columbus at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church. Boating and camping were among Dick's favorite pastimes, but cruises held a special place in his heart, and he often mentioned he wished he had gone on more.

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his children, Whitney Churchley (Ryan) and Josh; his grandchildren, Addison, Blake, and Cody; his beloved stepmother, Ruth; and three generations of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, whose memories continue to be treasured by those who knew them.

Dick will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love of cars and music, and his gift for ensuring that no room remained serious for long. His quick smirk and subtly mischievous smile reflected the wit he carried throughout his life.

A funeral Mass will be held at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community in Arvada, Colorado on December 29 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow. A private burial will take place in Des Plaines, Illinois, on January 2.
