Richard Harbie

Richard "Rick" Harbie, age 73, passed away on January 9, 2026, in Deland, Florida. Born on April 14, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, Rick lived a full and vibrant life that spanned over seven decades.

Rick was the son of Edward Harbie and Julie Peternel Harbie, both of whom predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his brother Dale Harbie. He is survived by his daughter Loni Germ and Larry Russell; his sister Julie Petras and her husband Bob; his brother Ed; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Rick spent the majority of his life—over 50 years—in Deland, Florida. A skilled die maker by trade, he was known for his laid-back approach to life and his passion for motorcycles. Rick found immense joy in the warm Florida weather and could often be found riding his motorcycle alongside friends. It was during these rides that he felt most at peace, embracing the freedom of the open road.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Albion Woods Picnic Area on Albion Woods Drive in Strongsville, Ohio. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor Rick's memory and share stories of a life well-lived.

Rick's legacy is one of simplicity and joy—he lived life on his own terms and found happiness in the little things. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
