Richard Johnson

Mr. Richard John "Rick" Johnson passed away on February 11, 2026, in Plainfield, Illinois, at the age of 75. Born on November 22, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, Rick lived a life marked by passion for the things he loved and a deep affection for those he held closest to him.

Rick had a unique eye for beauty and history, which he expressed through his love of collecting. He found joy in discovering art, memorabilia, antiques, and vintage items—treasures that told stories of the past. His enthusiasm extended beyond collecting; he had a knack for finding undervalued pieces and enjoying them, knowing he got the best price he could, and that they would be in the right hands. This hobby was more than just a pastime—it was a reflection of his resourcefulness and appreciation for craftsmanship and nostalgia.

Though Rick was not without flaws, he held a sincere love for those he truly cherished. Among them, his grandson Brenton Trotnow held a special place in his heart. Their bond was unbreakable and unprecedented—a connection built on mutual admiration and deep affection. Rick's love for Brenton was evident to all who knew them.

He was preceded in death by his precious granddaughters, Ashlyn and Alana.

He is also remembered by his two daughters, Lauren Trotnow and Elizabeth Johnson. As well as Darlene Johnson.
