Richard "Dick" Wiley Jones Jr.
Born in 1941 first born son of Richard and Elsie "Dolly" Jones in Washington State has passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 21, 2025, with his beloved children by his side in Palmer, Alaska.
Married at 21 he was the father of four children: His eldest and name's sake, Richard II (Cori), his eldest daughter and longtime care giver, Rhonda (James), his daughter Rebecca (Patrick) and youngest son, Carl (Jennifer). He is survived by his sisters, Barbara (Floyd), Brother, Donald (Joyce), Deloris (Herbert) Betty (Earl) and 6 Grandchildren, Cortney, Amanda, Shawn, Nicolas, Delaney and Christopher. He has10 Great Grandchildren and one on the way. Dick is proceeded in death by his father, Mother and younger brother Robert (Maria).
Dick lived his life on his own terms and spent his 84 years carving out his name in this world.
In 1972 he relocated his young family to Anchorage, Alaska where he worked with Hertz and later began his career with RCA Alascom working on the Alaskan Pipeline as a Heavy Machine Mechanic. He retired from A&T Alascom as Lead Shop Mechanic after 27 years of service.
Dick enjoyed hunting in Alaska in his younger years and was an avid fisherman all his life. He kept his 32' boat in a slip in Seward, Alaska. He shared this passion with his longtime friend, Bob Swift. He was a man who loved to go camping and had various types of Motorhomes throughout his life. He enjoyed the beach and loved flying kites. Long road trips seemed to be his passion. Was an excellent driver and he enjoyed a good adventure.
Dick was a true Alaskan, living there for the better part of his 84 years. He was best known for his sense of humor and how he could recite intricate limericks off the top of his head and his family often wondered how he could recall so many. He was reciting them up until the week he moved on. Dick was a special man and left a lasting impression in the lives of those who knew him. He is loved and will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.
