Richard Lynn

1929 - 2026

On March 22nd, 2026, Richard Lynn passed away at 96, while feeling the love of Helen, his wife of 66 years. Richard's life would not be nearly as full without Helen, but his life started with love, too, on August 25,1929, when he was born to Samuel and Sylvia Lynn, who raised him in Mount Vernon New York, and gave him brother, Norman, a close, caring sibling.
As a young man, Richard served in the U.S. Navy and received degrees from Columbia and Harvard University. A career in finance led him to the Department of Finance at Pace University, where he was chair for many years, and affectionately known as Dick by colleagues. During this time, he was also very active in the “No Nukes” movement to prevent the proliferation of nuclear missiles, and throughout his life, cared about his country and world, and gave generously to many charities. He and Helen enjoyed bicycle trips and travel with friends, and as an avid photographer, Dick had his own dark room in his home in Millwood, New York.
Richard's blue eyes often twinkled and his daughter, believing there is stardust from ancient stars in each of us, told him during his final day in hospice care to be with the stars. His bright caring spirit will be missed by many, including Richard and Helen's four children and their spouses, and nine grandchildren. Donations in Richard Lynn's memory may be sent to the Social Justice Committee at Temple Israel of Northern Westchester, 31 Glengary Road, Croton-on-Hudson, NY 10520.
