Richard Mawn

Richard Alden "Rick" Mawn Jr., 53, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Everett, Massachusetts. Born in 1972, in Winchester, Massachusetts, Rick was the beloved son of the late Richard and Catherine Mawn.

Rick grew up in Massachusetts and pursued his education at Austin Prep before continuing his studies at Mount Ida College. Throughout his life, he was known for his passion for sports, both as an avid fan and an athlete. His enthusiasm for athletics brought joy to those around him and left a lasting impression on everyone who shared his love for the game. He loved watching his children play sports and participate in various special interests.

Rick is survived by his cherished children, James and Shannon of Winchester MA; his sisters Kathleen and Victoria of Woburn MA; and his former wife, Jill Gunning. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A private burial will take place, honoring Rick's wishes. A Celebration of Life is planned later this month to commemorate his memory and the impact he had on those around him.
