Richard John Pettoruto died peacefully of heart failure on March 29, 2026, at the age of 67. He was born on June 24, 1958.
He often spoke fondly of his younger years, sharing stories filled with laughter and friendships growing up in Andover, MA, and attending Bridgewater State College and UMass Amherst. For 20 years, he served as a Massachusetts State Trooper. Most of his time was spent on the road, responding to accidents. His work forged a disciplined, unwavering, and independent character.
He enjoyed summer days sunbathing and riding his bike at Hampton Beach, bargain hunting, taking long drives in a trusty old car to familiar places, and eating the most simple foods—like pizza with very light sauce. His favorite pastime was reclining in complete comfort at the movie theater, fully immersed in the experience. He delighted in talking about the latest movies with anyone who would listen. He shared this passion with his daughter, Mary Pettoruto.
Love from all of us.
