Richard Redding Sr.

Richard Redding Sr., age 86, of Gary, IN passed away January 4, 2026. Richard was born February 21, 1939, to the late Albert Redding and Jamesella Bidden. He graduated from Froebel HS, served in the US Army, and went on to work and retire from US Steel Gary Works. As a devoted member of Jerusalem MB Church, he served as a Trustee, sang in the Concert Choir and the Male Chorus. In 1964, Richard married Gwedolyn J. Swain, and together they had Richard Redding Jr. and Tiffany Redding. He was preceded in death by his son Ricky Jr. Richard's memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 61 years, his daughter, three grandsons, extended family and friends. Richard will be memorialized on Saturday January 24,2026 11:00 a.m. at Jerusalem M.B. Church 1747 Fillmore St. Gary, IN 46407, Pastor Isaac Culver Jr., Officiant.
