Richard Allan Reynolds, affectionately known as Rick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 76. He was surrounded by those who loved him.
Born on April 7, 1949, in Louisville, Rick remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life. His warmth and humor were constants in the lives of his family and friends. Whether through a quick joke, a perfectly timed story, or his genuine interest in others, Rick had a remarkable gift for making people smile.
A devoted fan of University of Louisville sports, Rick rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Cardinals. Game days were sacred to him—filled with excitement and camaraderie—and his enthusiasm was infectious. Whether watching from home or engaging in spirited conversations about the latest matchups, Rick's love for UofL athletics was unwavering.
Rick loved his family deeply and was a steady source of support, encouragement, and love. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his children, Whitney and Ryan; his brother Gary; sister-in-law Pat; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Kathy; his parents William and Catherine; and his sister Jean.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 27th at Savor at River House. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Kentucky Humane Society.
Rick will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, humor, and big heart. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 02:00 PM at Savor at River House 3015 River Rd-Second Floor
