Richard M. Russo

Richard M. "Dick" Russo, age 93, a longtime resident of Quincy, formerly of Weymouth, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 4, 2026 in the comfort of his loving family.

Dick was born in Weymouth, to the late Dominic and Mary (Rossetti) Russo. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1950, where he was class president and a key player on the championship football team. Dick attended Burdette Business School before serving in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and National Defense Service Medal.

Dick was the well-known president, owner, and operator of Lincoln Granite Company in Quincy and Braintree. He enjoyed a very long and satisfying career in the monument business. Fortunate to have a job that he loved, he was still actively working at the age of 91. Well-respected in the industry, Dick will be remembered for his custom hand drawn designs.

The heartbeat of the family, Dick was the anchor and the one who always had your back. In the eyes of his family, he was their "Hero." He was kind, compassionate, generous, had a quirky sense of humor, tremendous work ethic, and endless energy. As a teller of tales, Dick often began his story with the phrase "True Story." An avid reader, he also enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden and following the New England Patriots.

Dick lived a long and fulfilling life and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Loving father of Lynne D'Andrea and her husband Jim, Wayne Russo and his wife Debbie, Charlene Bonome and her partner Paul Beston, Rick Russo, and Annette Russo.

Adoring grandfather of Lea, Daniele, Derek, and Scott and cherished great grandfather of Hailey, Aliyah, Anthony, and Dylan.

Dick is also survived by his devoted longtime friend and co-worker, Maria DiBona.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Tuesday, March 10, from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, on Wednesday, March 11, at 10 a.m. Entombment will take place privately.
