Richard Alan Scott, 64, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on January 6, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1961, in Auburn, Alabama, to Robert Norman Scott, Sr., who preceded him in death, and Nancy March Scott.

Alan lived life with an adventurous spirit, a love of learning, and a willingness to take risks. A graduate of Davidson High School, his independent nature led him from Mobile, Alabama to California, and later to Plano, Texas, where he and his wife, Tina, put down roots for their family. Alan's love of golf and baseball inspired him to open and operate Scott's Fun Park and Northwest Driving Range, where the family worked together.

Later, after moving to Knoxville, Alan worked closely with his daughter Nancy, helping her purchase three homes at courthouse auction, which he personally repaired and renovated. He embraced new experiences and charted his own course.

Alan is survived by his children, Nancy Marietta Scott and her spouse, Michael Rizzo, and Richard Gregory Scott and his spouse, Natalie Smith Scott; and by his grandchildren, RJ and Charlie, who were a source of great pride. He is additionally survived by his wife, Tina Scott, and siblings Norman, Drew, and Edie, and his longtime companion, Charlee Stewart.

Alan's kindness and generosity were his gifts to the world, and his love and pride in his children were evident to all who knew him. He will be remembered for the lasting impact he had on his family, friends, and neighbors.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
