Mr. Richard "Dickie" Vance, age 77, passed away at home on February 25, 2026, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on March 19, 1948, in Anderson, Indiana, he lived a remarkable life filled with love, service, and adventure.

Richard was the beloved husband of Vicki, his devoted wife of 40 years. He is also survived by his twin sister, Regina Stewart; his son, Richard Vance II; and his daughter, Bonnie Swan and her husband Mike. He was a proud grandfather to Stephanie Swan and Samantha Brissette and cherished his great-grandchildren Madison, Harper, and Weston. He was predeceased by his parents, Roberta and Addison Vance.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Richard served with distinction as part of the 3rd Recon Marines during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication earned him two Purple Hearts during his four years of service—a testament to his courage and commitment to his country.

Richard had a zest for life that was as vibrant as his personality. Known for his colorful character and infectious energy, he brought joy to those around him. Whether out on the water boating or enjoying a round of golf, he embraced life’s pleasures with enthusiasm and passion.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him. A Memorial Service will be held on March 7, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Alva Church of God 21361 N River Rd. with a Celebration of Life to follow immediately after the service at the Vance Residence.
