Richard "Dick" Vesperman, 86, born in New York and formerly of San Ramon, CA, has gone to be with his Savior. Dick was known for his Christian faith. As a young boy, he put his trust in Jesus as his Savior and spent much of his life pointing others to Christ.
Music was a big part of Dick's life. He started playing the accordion in elementary school and brought it to school in his little red wagon. Dick loved to sing and joined a choir whenever he could. He directed church choirs and children's choirs and, during his career with the Environmental Protection Agency, recruited fellow employees to start an EPA Chorus. Dick coordinated and produced the annual San Ramon community sing-along performance of Handel's Messiah for 20 years.
Dick is survived by his three daughters, son-in-law, and three grandsons. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sue, his sister, Marge, and his parents, Fred and Edith.
