RICK MILLER
Algan Richard Milller, Jr., lovingly known as Rick, Rickie & Dicky, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 76 on March 28, 2026 in West Sacramento, surrounded by his devoted family.
Rick was born on October 16, 1949 in Woodland, CA, to Al & LaVerne Miller, who preceded him in death. He was raised in West Sacramento, where he built a lifetime of memories and graduated from James Marshall High School in 1967.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Genna; daughter, Laurie; son, Shawn (Melissa); cherished grandson, Alexander; sister, Dorothy (Hershel); brothers-in-law, Gerry (Sally); Gary (Susan); and many cousins, nieces and nephews who will all deeply miss him.
Throughout his life, Rick held a variety of jobs that reflected his strong work ethic and friendly spirit, including positions at Western Union, local gas stations, West Sac TV, Miller’s TV, and later at Bing Maloney Golf Course, where he worked as a salesman and starter.
A gifted and passionate athlete, Rick excelled in everything he pursued. He loved baseball, bowling, golf, and he even fulfilled a dream of becoming a pilot. He also loved riding his Harley and embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Rick was a voracious reader with a deep love of learning and competition, which naturally drew him to his favorite show, Jeopardy. His quick-wit, sharp mind and engaging personality attracted people to him.
Above all, Rick loved his family and friends. He was known for his humor and charm - qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He always had a joke to share.
Rick will be remembered for his strength, his love for his family and the way he showed up for those he cared about. Rick’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and lifelong curiosity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched. His family finds comfort in knowing that this is not a final goodbye, but a parting until they are reunited again.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Rick on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 11am at Horizon Church in West Sacramento.
