Rick Weinstein, 72, passed away in South San Francisco on March 15, 2026, after a long illness. Born Feb. 11, 1954, in Miami Beach, FL. Rick had a profound love for his family and was the first born of Daniel and Jacqueline Weinstein.
A graduate of North Miami High, Rick went on to earn a BA in accounting at Florida International University; later following his sister and brother to Northern California, where he became a CPA and had a long career serving individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations.
Rick possessed a remarkable aptitude for mathematics and an extraordinary memory for historical detail. A passionate sports enthusiast and devoted follower of the Miami Dolphins, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of plays, teams, and player statistics spanning many years.
A deeply spiritual and faithful man, Rick felt a calling to help others through his church, the Tiburon Christian Fellowship, where he ministered to listeners on a weekly radio program, “Contending for the Faith” for many years. Rick also provided spiritual support and guidance for incarcerated individuals; volunteered as a big brother and surrogate father for boys and young men; and volunteered at animal shelters, comforting stray, and abandoned animals. Through his life and endeavors Rick left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Rick leaves behind many who deeply feel his absence. He was a cherished brother, uncle, brother-in-law, and a loyal friend to all who knew him. Rick was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his siblings, Joel (Patty), Linda Joy, Jack, Rita Holder (Jay); dear cousins, and countless friends. The family will return Rick to his birthplace for a graveside service at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Miami, Florida. The date and time will be announced once arrangements are finalized.
