Rita K Baldwin

Rita K. Baldwin, a beloved wife, mother, and lifelong animal advocate, died peacefully on the morning of April 13, 2026.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Rita graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1954 and subsequently attended Memphis State University. She rekindled lifelong love with her high school sweetheart, Elliott (“EBO”) Baldwin, whom she married and built a home rooted in love and devotion.
Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Mackie Kidwell; her father, Leslie Kidwell; and her daughter, Debbie McPherson.
She is survived by her husband, Elliott Baldwin, and his children, Julia (Rob), Michael (Shelly), and Cromer (Emiko).
In accordance with Rita’s deep affection for all animals, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Nashville Humane Society.
A service to celebrate Rita’s life will be announced at a later date.
