Rita Deller

Rita Elizabeth Deller (Nyborg), born March 31, 1937, in City of Orange, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 9, 2025, in Antioch, California, following a short illness. She was 88 years old.

Born to George and Svea Nyborg, Rita grew up in New Jersey alongside her siblings and carried the values of family and resilience throughout her life.

Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank S. Deller, Jr., who passed away in 2005. Together they shared a life that brought them three daughters and one son. She faced the heartbreaking losses of her daughters Karen Aadland in 2015 and Denise McCown in 2024, as well as her grandson Stephen Deller in 2018. She also mourned the passing of her brother George Nyborg and sister Sonja Ridenour.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Frank Deller III of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Melissa Del Dosso of Klamath Falls, Oregon; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and her brother Dick Nyborg. Her legacy lives on through each of them.

Rita remained active and independent well into her later years. Until suffering a minor stroke in August 2025, she was an avid bowler at Delta Bowl in Antioch—a pastime she enjoyed with enthusiasm and camaraderie. She also delighted in day trips to local casinos, embracing every opportunity for fun and adventure.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Rita's memory and the joy she brought to those around her.
