In Loving Memory of Rita Faulkner

Rita Faulkner, a beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, of Massapequa, NY, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by love and the echoes of a life well lived. She is now reunited with her soulmate and spouse of 41 years, Gilbert Faulkner, for eternity.

Born on December 25, 1935, she is the daughter of the late Benjamin and Flora Basen of South Bronx, New York. Born into a world that shaped her resilience and wisdom, Rita carried herself with quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering dignity. She lived her life guided by Jewish values - kindness, devotion to family, respect for tradition, and an enduring sense of responsibility to others. Her home was always a place of warmth, welcome, and thoughtful conversation.

Above all else, Rita cherished her family. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Bruce and Rob, whose lives were forever shaped by her guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. She took great pride in watching her family grow, finding joy in every milestone and comfort in the simple moments spent together.

Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the values she instilled, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sons and their wives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rita is survived by her sons Bruce S. (Sue) Faulkner of North Babylon, NY and Robert (Teresa) Faulkner of East Islip, NY. Grandchildren: Cheryl Faulkner, Bruce D. Faulkner, Kristen (Joseph) Curry, Gillan (Elise) Faulkner, and Jon Faulkner. Great-Grandchildren: Kayla Myrick, Michael Myrick, Jr., Caleb Curry, Ezra Curry, and Maisie Faulkner.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 at the Star of David Chapel at 1236 Wellwood Ave. in West Babylon, NY. Burial will take place at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 in the Calverton National Cemetery at 210 Princeton Blvd., Calverton, NY, 11933.
