Robert Doyle "Bob" Abbott, age 75, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Couderay, Wisconsin. Born on March 2, 1950, in Waukegan, Illinois, Bob lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his passions.
Bob proudly served as a veteran of the Vietnam War. His time in the military was a testament to his strength and commitment to serving others. After his service, he found great joy and fulfillment in operating heavy equipment—a passion that became a defining part of his life. Whether working or enjoying the outdoors, Bob's love for nature shone through in his hobbies of hunting, fishing, and fixing things. He was known for his strong yet kind demeanor and was deeply cherished by those who knew him.
Family was central to Bob's life. He is survived by his brother Roger (Sharon) Abbott; sons Robert Orin Abbott, James Abbott, and Richard Abbott; and daughters Jennifer Hammett, Sabrina Hammett, and Carol Swain. He was also a loving grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to many.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Orin "Bud" Abbott and Ruth Gibson Abbott; brothers Paul (Judy) Abbott and Rick (Marlene) Abbott; sister Karen (Richard) Gruber; and son Randy Hammett.
Bob's legacy is one of resilience, love for the outdoors, and devotion to family. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
