FRANKENFIELD, Robert Donald "Bob", age 88, of Eagan, MN (formerly Minneapolis). A devoted husband and cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle & friend passed away peacefully in his sleep at Eagan Pointe Senior Living on February 16, 2026 leaving behind a network of family and friends who simply adored him.
He was born in May 1937 to Melvin and Helen Frankenfield in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A genuinely treasured man whose legacy is defined by his strength, warmth, generosity, sense of humor, hard work and the utter joy he brought to those around him.
In his younger years Bob was a free-spirited and adventurous young man who aspired to travel the country, until he met the love of his life, Patricia Ebert. On May 9, 1959 he married his bride and settled down, to become a proud, passionate and dedicated family man. Throughout the years he supported his growing family, neighbors and community through the different skills he acquired and tasks he tackled throughout his days. He was a welder, a laborer, a volunteer fireman, a Boy Scout leader, a small business owner, and a mentor for his children. His hobbies included many interests, but especially building model ships, and making doll houses and hand-made doll house furniture for deserving little girls and charity fund raisers. And, he loved fishing for those massive Muskies and Northern Pike.
Preceded in death by his loving bride of 48 years Patricia, son Richard Frankenfield, sister Rita Corey, brother Richard Frankenfield, and parents Melvin and Helen.
Survived by his brother and best friend Raymond (Beverly) Frankenfield, his sons: Randy (Gina), Robert (Patricia), and Ryan Frankenfield; his daughters: Ann Wegner (Bob), Kathy Brown (Mick), Karen Geyer (Todd Beckwith), Patti Peterson (Richard), Amy Maxson (Lou); 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and their spouses, other relatives & friends; and his special fur-baby "Caramia".
Though he is deeply missed, his playful demeanor, love, and memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Bob's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to his caring hospice team at St. Croix Hospice; many doctors, nurses and care providers in the Allina Health Network; Fire and Rescue at Eagan Fire Station #1, and the caring staff at Eagan Pointe Senior Living.
In accordance with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place by Crescent Tide, no services will be held.
