Robert S. "Buzz" Busby, age 65, a longtime resident of Weymouth, died peacefully, Saturday, December 27, 2025, in the comfort of his loving family, at the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Robert was born in Boston, to the late Robert M. and Joan A. (Ryan) Busby. Raised and educated in Mattapan and Dorchester, he was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Class of 1977. He lived in Weymouth for the past thirty-six years.

He was employed as building superintendent for Northeastern University for seventeen years. He loved his job and the many friendships he made over the years. Previously, he had worked with his late father, Robert, in his family business, Busby Leather Sales.

Buzz was an avid Boston sports fan, and especially enjoyed the Boston Bruins. He was a talented athlete and excelled in hockey and skating, baseball, and basketball. He loved the ocean, the beach, and daily five-mile walks along Nantasket Beach in Hull.

He relished time spent at the Erie Pub in Dorchester with his friends. Most of all, he was devoted to his family, especially his children and siblings, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments.

Buzz will always be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and his warm smile. He was the shining light to everyone around him.

Devoted father of Ryan R. Busby of Weymouth, and Amanda A. Busby and her partner Colin Tiernan of Buzzards Bay. He was also the loving father of late baby twins, Christopher and Robert.

Longtime loving partner of Karen Perreault Duffy of Plymouth.

Dear brother of Jayne M. Fitzgerald and her husband Kevin of Quincy, Michael J. Busby and his wife Lisa of Kingston, Daniel T. Busby and his wife MaryBeth of Chicago, IL., Joan A. Busby of Weymouth and her partner James Arsenault, and Carolyn J. McWhirk and her husband John of Plymouth.

Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and their families.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, on Tuesday, January 6, from 4 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
