Robert L. "Bob" Bush, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, in Laguna Beach, California. Born on June 11, 1937, in Smith Center, Kansas, Bob lived a remarkable life filled with adventure, dedication to his career, and a passion for sports and the outdoors.
Bob graduated from Smith Center High School in 1955 and went on to earn his degree from Washburn University. After completing his education, he embarked on a dynamic career in the clothing industry that spanned decades and took him around the globe. In the early 1960s, Bob moved to Denver to work for May Company before joining Swank Accessories. He later spent many years with Hagger before transitioning to JJ's of San Francisco in the early 1980s. At JJ's of San Francisco, Bob dedicated over 30 years of his life to his work, traveling extensively and leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was known for his love of sports and outdoor activities. He enjoyed playing golf and basketball and found joy in sailing. A devoted fan of Kansas State University (K-State) and University of Kansas (KU) sports teams, he followed their games with enthusiasm throughout his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Della Bush. He is survived by his brother Dennis Bush; nephew David Bush; and niece Paula Bush. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him.
